Mass will be celebrated daily - Monday to Friday (starting 1st April) via the webcam @ 5.00pm and Saturday @ 7.00pm
Sunday 5th April Evening Prayer at 5.00pm
Prayer for Spiritual Communion
I believe that You are present in
the most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things
and I desire to receive You in
Since I cannot at this moment
receive you sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace you as if You were already there
and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You Amen.
This is an occasion for all of us – especially in families – to pray more intensely for each other and especially for those who have succumbed to the illness. We should pray also for those at the frontlines – especially doctors, nurses and medical staff and other carers, including clergy – that the Lord will protect them as they place their own wellbeing at risk in the service of all.
Extract from Saint Patrick’s Breastplate
Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I sit down,
Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.

Jesus was tortured and humiliated by the pride and self-will of people. He accepted this fate so as to overcome human destructiveness. His humble attentiveness to God allows God's power to be active and recreative
The COVID-19 Coronavirus
MASS CANCELLATIONS ST. COLMCILLE’S SWORDS
As we are only too well aware by now our world is facing an unprecedented health crisis posed by the coronavirus.
To manage the rate of increase and to adequately and effectively treat those who have the illness caused by the virus drastic action had had to be taken by all sectors of society. In a spirit of cooperation and concern for the wellbeing of others we will be, regretfully, as of this morning,
Cancelling all Masses up to and including 19th April,
Including weekday Masses
At which time the situation will be reviewed. The priests of the parish will celebrate Mass each day for the ‘booked’ Mass intentions and for the intentions of the People of the Parish. The Mass each day will be behind closed doors, or at the priest’s home.
All non-essential pastoral gatherings and meetings, are cancelled
Every Catholic is entitled to a dignified Christian burial. Attendance at funeral services and Masses should be limited to close relatives and must not exceed 100 attendees within the church building
Similarly, Church weddings and baptisms may be celebrated but numbers are vastly reduced, only parents, godarents and baby to attend
In these difficult and uncertain times, people find strength, consolation and hope in prayer.
This is an occasion for all of us – especially in families – to pray more intensely for each other and especially for those who have succumbed to the illness. We should pray also for those in the frontlines – especially doctors, nurses and medical staff and other carers, including clergy and those in retail – that the Lord will protect them as they place their own wellbeing at risk in the service of all.
“And all will be well and all manner of things shall be well” – Julian of Norwich
In the current emergency, all are dispensed from the obligation to physically attend Sunday Mass
Mass with limited congregations will be celebrated to permit participation by web-cam. If you wish to access Mass on-line please visit one of these websites
St Colmcille's Parish now has a webcam see above for the link. Mass will be transmitted daily Monday - Friday at 5.00pm and Saturday at 7.00pm
Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary,
that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection,
implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided.
Inspired with this confidence,
I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.
To you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful.
O Mother of the Word Incarnate,
despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer. Amen.
